Article 1 (Purpose)
SHINBO Co., Ltd. is committed to prohibiting the use of conflict minerals from conflict and high-risk areas, as well as minerals associated with human rights violations, unethical practices, or environmental issues during the mining process. The purpose of this Policy is to express the Company’s commitment to using only responsible minerals that are mined in a manner that respects human rights and protects the environment, while preventing mining proceeds from being used to finance rebel groups, and to set forth the basic principles and implementation measures for putting this commitment into practice.
Article 2 (Scope of Application)
This Policy applies to the Company and must be complied with by all business partners that enter into contracts with the Company to provide goods or services or for other business transactions. All business partners subject to this Policy are encouraged to ensure that their entire supply chain, including their trading partners (sub-suppliers), complies with the requirements set forth in this Policy.
Article 3 (Definitions)
1)Tin (Sn) :
Primarily used for soldering and plating, and widely used in electrical and electronic products and components.
2)Tantalum (Ta) :
Used in precision components and alloys incorporated into electrical and electronic products, automobiles, and aerospace products.
3)Tungsten (W) :
Used throughout the electronics, automotive, and aerospace industries, primarily in the form of compounds or alloys.
4)Gold (Au) :
Used in IT equipment, semiconductor components, medical devices, jewelry, and other products.
Responsible minerals are a broader concept that includes conflict minerals and refers to all minerals for which human rights, environmental, and social responsibilities must be considered throughout the mining, processing, and trading processes. These include cobalt, nickel, zinc, copper, and mica.
Article 4 (Management Policy)
1)We will establish and comply with conflict minerals management processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws by applying international standards governing conflict minerals, and will actively support initiatives to prohibit the use of conflict minerals promoted by the EICC and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI).
2)We will strive to ensure that our business partners purchase conflict minerals from smelters that comply with the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI)’s Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP).
3)We will comply with applicable laws and other requirements in accordance with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance and continuously improve our management system through ethical and responsible management.
4)To ensure that the conflict and responsible minerals management policy is consistently applied throughout the downstream supply chain, we require all business partners to be fully aware of relevant laws and regulations concerning conflict and responsible minerals and to strictly comply with their own management policies.
5)The Purchasing Department shall serve as the department responsible for the implementation and operation of this Policy.
Article 5 (Efforts of SHINBO)
SHINBO Co., Ltd. will continuously strive to manage conflict minerals (3TG) and responsible minerals (including cobalt) that are illegally mined or distributed, continuously monitor our business partners’ responsible mineral procurement practices, and further strive to expand and implement a mineral procurement policy that prohibits the use of conflict minerals and fulfills our social responsibilities.
Article 6 (Effective Date)
This Policy shall take effect as of April 30, 2026.
